Biography

Dwight David Eisenhower was born October 14, 1890. He built his career as a career Army officer, rising to Supreme Allied Commander during WWII, where he oversaw the planning and execution of the D-Day invasion of Normandy in 1944. After the war, he served as Army Chief of Staff and later as the first Supreme Commander of NATO, before entering politics for the first time as a presidential candidate.
