Richard Nixon"Tricky Dick"

Richard Milhous Nixon was born January 9, 1913, in Yorba Linda, California. He served in the Navy during WWII, then became a U.S. Representative and later Senator from California before serving two terms as Vice President under Eisenhower (1953–1961). After narrowly losing the 1960 presidential election to John F. Kennedy, he made a political comeback and won the presidency in 1968, and again in 1972 in a landslide. His presidency (1969–1974) included the end of the Vietnam War, the opening of relations with China, and major achievements in foreign policy — but it's most remembered for the Watergate scandal, which led to his resignation in August 1974, making him the only U.S. president to resign from office.
