Contacting Your Officials
How do I write an effective letter to my representative?
An effective constituent letter is specific and personal: state which bill or issue you are writing about (include the bill number if possible), explain how it affects you personally, and make a clear ask (vote yes/no, co-sponsor, etc.). Keep it to one page. Use your home address so the member's office can verify you are a constituent. Handwritten letters on paper are more memorable than printed form letters.
